What would it mean to your organization if your people stopped fighting Change and instead Craved it? Yeah. We know. It would be huge.
Motivational speaker Brad Montgomery is a very funny fellow with some very deep thoughts about change management.
Like you, he understands that the real problems behind change are fear and uncertainty. Your people don’t like change because “Doing things the way we used to do them” is more comfortable than learning the new systems, processes and thought-patterns necessary for success and long-term sustainability.
Brad let’s them know he understands that their difficulties are real. Yes! Change is hard! Yes! It’s annoying and difficult. Yes! Change is stressful.
First, Brad believes that when we stay stagnant we lower our long-term happiness. Yup, it’s comfortable continue the same way, but it’s not great for our long-term personal wellness-of-being. It doesn’t make us happy, lack of change makes us unhappy.
Change is tough. Change is challenging. And change requires effort. But in the end, it’s this very effort that helps improve our own attitudes. Change actually makes us better.
Second, Brad believes that we all need to be reminded the PURPOSE behind change: it’s to improve ourselves, our organizations, and our place within our industry. It’s impossible to be an industry leader without continual change and adaptation.
And again, when an “outsider” reminds you people of this very simple truth, the “ah-ha’s” are genuine.

Change management professionals and those in associated fields whose job it is to overcome resistance to change and forge powerful partnerships with key stakeholders to facilitate organizational change.
SESSION DESCRIPTION
Overcoming resistance – the holy grail of change management. So often we start off with the best intentions, but it starts to feel like we’re doing something “to” or even “in spite of” THEM. But what can we control? Only ourselves! Join us for a highly interactive workshop replete with real-world examples drawn from the presenter’s 30 years of in-the-trenches experience, in which she learned to recognize how by changing herself, THEY changed too. Or more accurately – we don’t need to CHANGE ourselves, any more than we can force change on others. Rather, by reframing resistance in THEM from enemy to ally, identifying our own blind spots, and ADAPTING our mindsets and behaviors we can learn to lead in a new way.

SESSION DESCRIPTION
Culture Kills Change, unless you apply Culturally Intelligent Change. Attend this workshop to learn the 15 key culture actions to layer into your existing change approach. Each action is directly linked to a component of the ACMP Standard for Change Management. We call this culturally intelligent change.
Culturally Intelligent Change = Understanding and using the elements of culture (values, norms, beliefs, assumptions) and climate (systems, structures, etc.) as key inputs to guide the change approach to accelerate learning and improve results.
Culture is the strength you build on; the source of speed, success, and sustainability during change. It also creates the resistance that can prevent even the most thoughtful change management plans from succeeding. Research shows that culture-led change increases the chance of project success by up to 50% versus conventional change-management approaches.
Come to this workshop and learn:
Leave with new ideas, tools, and techniques for harnessing the power of culture to accelerate change

SESSION DESCRIPTION
Change is everywhere. We’re all talking about it, reading about it, feeling the effects of it, and, most likely, getting asked what WE are going to do about it. And this is the problem. “Change Management” has become a crutch in many organizations. We staff up teams, build methodologies, attach ourselves to the most important programs and do great work. Then we’re asked to do it again … and again … and again. The organization doesn’t learn how to change. They just learn that they have somebody to do that “change stuff” for them. Don’t become that crutch. Spend 90 interactive minutes examining the work you’re doing today. Assess the change maturity of those around you. And, finally, learn how to flip the switch and make change an all-in accountability.

SESSION DESCRIPTION
Break out of your cultural comfort zone. Technology is connecting us more than ever, but still face linguistic and cultural barriers. In a globalized world, teamwork, collaboration, and business growth mean communicating across real and perceived borders. In this dynamic presentation, learn how cultural differences present challenges in everyday situations—including on social media—whether we perceive it or not. Explore communication styles across world regions, decode cultural perceptions of time, see American culture through a foreign “lens,” and understand cultural expectations. Multidisciplinary content draws on business case studies, research in applicable fields of psychology and sociology, culture related events in the news, and the latest academic theories on intercultural dynamics. You’ll takeaway how to effectively penetrate foreign markets and build relationships across cultures without knowing the local language.
